Learning Outcomes
At the completion of the social science program, students should be able to do the following:

Interpret and evaluate major social and cultural trends through multiple theoretical, philosophical, and global perspectives, demonstrating awareness of diverse worldviews and historical contexts.

Explain the development and function of social institutions and personal interactions by applying interdisciplinary theories and practical frameworks from the social sciences.

Demonstrate critical thinking and methodological skills to analyze, interpret, and contribute to contemporary social science research, including the ethical use of qualitative and quantitative methods.

Engage in applied research or practice-based learning experiences that integrate academic knowledge with professional, civic, or cross-cultural contexts.

Integrate Christian worldview and ethical reasoning into the analysis of social issues, demonstrating a commitment to justice, human dignity, and community well-being.

Social Science BS Requirements
Specified Core Curriculum
Students earning a bachelor’s degree must complete all Core Curriculum requirements. The following specific core curriculum course(s) is required. Major Courses
Completion of major courses and concentration courses requires a minimum grade of C-. Electives
In addition to core curriculum (40-44 credit hours) and major course requirements, students must complete elective coursework appropriate to their degree. A minimum of 120 credit hours is required for most bachelor’s degrees, including elective coursework. Students are strongly encouraged to work with their advisor to identify courses that complement their program area. Summary
