The Division of Science at Southern Wesleyan University equips students to address globally significant issues through evidence-based and applied learning, all within the framework of Christian community. The division brings together the full range of science and math majors under one academic unit. Our goal is to prepare students for impactful careers in fields such as medicine, rehabilitation, veterinary sciences, engineering, technology, and research, as well as for advanced graduate and doctoral study.
Our programs are designed to immerse students in rigorous, discipline-specific content while also cultivating essential skills in communication, analysis, synthesis, and problem-solving. Students benefit from small class sizes, close faculty mentorship, and hands-on learning in laboratory, field, and professional settings. We emphasize the integration of faith and learning, encouraging students to apply their scientific knowledge in service to God and humanity.
Our graduates are academically well-prepared, uphold strong ethical standards, and carry their Christian faith into their professions and communities. Faculty advisors are dedicated to helping students discern and pursue their academic and professional goals. Whether students plan to attend graduate or professional school, pursue careers in research, healthcare, or technology, or enter specialized programs such as physical therapy, systems engineering, or data science, the Division of Science provides strong preparation and individualized guidance.
