CHEM 1114 General Chemistry I 4 credits An introduction to the fundamental concepts and laws of chemistry including states of matter, atomic and molecular structure, the periodic table, stoichiometry, chemical reactions, theories of chemical bonding, and the gas laws. Qualitative and quantitative analysis methods are explored. Prerequisite: Sufficient score on math college placement exams (500 SAT/ 20 ACT) or MATH 1064 or higher math. Additional laboratory fee required.
