The Social Sciences Department offers a BS degree with majors in criminal justice studies, human services, psychology, recreation and sport management, and social science.

The focus of the Social Science Department at Southern Wesleyan University is on understanding individual and corporate human experience and behavior across a variety of cultural-historical contexts and applying that understanding to enhance human experience and performance.

To that end, the mission of the Social Sciences Department is to challenge and enable students to develop their skills and talents to effectively process, analyze, and synthesize a wide variety of information within the context of a Christian worldview. Students and faculty are called to apply these skills and talents to better understand and to more effectively serve God and creation.
