Criminal Justice Studies (BS)

Learning Outcomes

Students completing the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Criminal Justice Studies are expected to:

  • demonstrate knowledge of significant facts, theories, and issues within the domain of criminal justice.
  • demonstrate critical thinking skills and knowledge of significant facts, theories, and issues in considering and applying the relationship between Christianity and criminal justice, and in applying these relationships to serving others.
  • display the critical thinking skills and research skills necessary to interpret and contribute to current criminal justice research.
  • be prepared for employment or graduate studies in fields that are related to criminal justice.

 

Criminal Justice Studies BS Requirements


Concentrations


Choose at least one 15-hour concentration (a minimum of 5 courses).  Courses may not be applied to multiple (or more than one) concentration.  Completion of concentration courses requires a minimum grade of C-.

Electives


In addition to core curriculum (40-44 credit hours) and major course requirements, students must complete elective coursework appropriate to their degree. A minimum of 120 credit hours is required for most bachelor’s degrees, including elective coursework. Students are strongly encouraged to work with their advisor to identify courses that complement their program area.
