Federal CIP: 51.1105 Pre-Nursing Studies
The Pre-Nursing major is designed to prepare students to transfer to an accredited nursing program for completion of clinical rotations. Currently, agreements exist with Indiana Wesleyan University.
The purpose of this partnership is to secure a quality, collaborative affiliation between the two universities that increases educational and career opportunities for Southern Wesleyan students. The partnership offers preferential admission for qualified Southern Wesleyan applicants into Indiana Wesleyan’s Transition to BSN Program of Study. Southern Wesleyan University offers the prerequisite science and general education components of the pre-professional curriculum culminating in a BS in Pre-Nursing, and Indiana Wesleyan University’s School of Nursing offers the professional nursing training culminating in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
The SWU Office of Academic Records and Department of Science shall determine that the student has successfully completed the academic program requirements for the BS in Pre-Nursing degree while the IWU dean of the Pre-licensure Nursing Division shall determine that the student has completed the professional requirements for the BSN.
