Business Administration (On-Campus) (BS)

Program Learning Outcomes

Students completing the On-Campus Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration are expected to meet the following program outcomes:

  • Business Communication:  Become effective in both oral and written communication;
  • Teamwork and Collaboration:  Demonstrate leadership in effective collaboration, interacting and contributing as a team member to meet stated goals;
  • Social and Corporate Responsibility:  Exercise the ability to articulate the impact of corporate social responsibility for business and society;
  • Ethics and Christian Servant Leadership:  Model a clear perception of business ethics based on Christian principles and utilize leadership skills that reflect Christian servant leadership principles;
  • Problem-Solving and Decision Making: Apply critical thinking skills to identify and solve problems using various analytical tools and technology.

Business Administration BS Requirements


Concentrations


Choose one of the following concentrations.  Completion of concentration courses requires a minimum grade of C-.

General Business

Any combination of at least four (4) courses totaling 12 hours (minimum) from approved business courses at Southern Wesleyan University or via accepted transfer credit. Approved classes designated with prefixes such as ACCT, BUSI, ECON, FINC, FPLN, IBMT, MKMT, MGMT, and SUCH beyond core requirements, may be used to fulfill the 12 hours of concentration courses.

Online Concentrations

The following concentrations are offered only via online delivery and are available to On-Campus students.  On-Campus students must:

  • meet with an academic advisor to schedule online courses;
  • satisfy any prerequisite requirements for online courses prior to enrolling in them;
  • limit online course credit hours enrollment each semester to no more than 50% of the total number of enrolled credit hours for a given semester (e.g., enroll in a maximum of 6 online course credits when enrolled in a total of 12 credit hours for the semester).  See Course Load policy :

In addition to core curriculum (40-44 credit hours) and major course requirements, students must complete elective coursework appropriate to their degree. A minimum of 120 credit hours is required for most bachelor’s degrees, including elective coursework. Students are strongly encouraged to work with their advisor to identify courses that complement their program area.
