RECR 3123 Mental Health Perspectives in Sport 3 credits This is a survey type semester course where students will examine, discuss, and evaluate the psychological and sociological concepts that define mental health from both Christian and clinical perspectives, as well as the specifics of those concepts encountered by those within the sports world. In this course, students will address stigmas, traditions, beliefs, etc. which both help and harm the well-being of athletes, coaches, and others within the sporting arena, and how we might better aid in the recognition and treatment of mental health issues.
