EXSC 4103 Research Methods in Exercise Science

3 credits
An introduction to the process of research and its usefulness in the fields of exercise science, athletic training, physical education, and sport. This course covers reading, analyzing, and evaluating research articles. Scientific writing, formulating research hypotheses, measuring variables, appropriate research design, and performing basic statistical analyses using the statistical results to draw appropriate conclusions are included.  An emphasis is placed on research and statistical techniques for the purpose of evaluating health-related and skill-related components of exercise science. Prerequisite: MATH 2203  Introduction to Statistics Note:  Successful completion of this writing intensive (WI) course can meet a Tier 2 QEP graduation requirement.
