MGMT 5433 Crisis Management 3 credits

Crisis Management leads students through the process of preparing for and mitigating the effects of organizational crises. The course will include an introduction to the strategic planning process, with the emphasis of the course directed toward the practical application of planning tools for proactive management of business crises. The topics will include general categories of organizational crises, preparation for organizational crises, and specific current examples of organizational crises. Current business literature will be the focus of classroom discussion, structured around the textbook and outside readings. Students will choose a crisis management topic at the beginning of the term and deliver a research paper as their final project.
