MUSC 2043 Musicianship IV

A continuation of MUSC 2033. Advanced chromatic harmony including augmented and Neapolitan sixth chords and superstructure chords. Continued development of part-writing skills. Advanced analytical work dealing atonal and contemporary literature. The aurals portion will emphasize advanced-level melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic materials in dictation from classical and commercial music. Listening skills are combined to piece together comprehensive lead sheets of commercial music. Computer programs are used to further develop visual and aural skills. Prerequisite: MUSC 2033
