INUR 4654 International Population Health 4 credits This course focuses on local, national, and global approaches to population health, with an emphasis on an international study of health care delivery through a study tour. This seven-module course will address population-focused nursing practice and the discipline of public health, evidence-based strategies for health promotion and disease prevention, surveillance of population health data, environmental health practices, and inter-professional collaboration. You will be involved with faculty-guided individual fieldwork conducing a community assessment during the study tour. The community assessment will involve applying the Community-as-Partner Assessment Model to guide your assessment, including examination of the “core,” examination of the subsystems within the community and analysis of all data gathered in order to establish priority community nursing diagnoses.
